1:00 am in Singapore

The fish had given us a fine pedicure and ashokji’s daughters were almost fast asleep, but we didn’t have too much time in Singapore and so much to do… so we dropped the little girls back home, and then headed for the one-stop-shop in Singapore: Mustafa

Mustafa must surely be an absolutely unique store… It’s really huge and STUFFED, jam-packed with things you can buy… You get literally everything… cereals, pens, gold and diamonds, DVDs, decorations, shoes, T shirts, medicines, gym equipment, sweets, chocolates, cosmetics, home appliances, food, toys, travel and hotel bookings for anywhere in the world, electronic stuff… Its open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (366 in leap years :) ) its almost like an offline version of amazon.com :)

Granted, that maybe in some specialty things, there is not too wide a variety… but the sheer scope and size of the store was really impressive… AND, it was crowded at almost 2:00 am on a weekday! Ashokji said that on weekends during the day, you cannot walk there… its like being in a bombay local during rush hour :)

Singapore is the world’s biggest port, and sailors may get shore leave for just a few hours, they need a place to shop where they can get everything… they all goto Mustafa! :)

We got a few t shirts, some yummy cereal, some DVDs and some nice Singapore fridge stickers from there … i think ashokji was a little disappointed that we didnt get anything else :)

But then we came upon a water massage table… and you get the massage without taking off your clothes and without getting wet! … basically you lie down on the contraption and it shuts over you (hydraulic) and covers you with water resistant material and then there are nozzles above the cover which shoot water at your prone body and move from neck to feet and back a few times… you have a remote in your hand and can make them stop at any point if you want… and its nice good bursts of hot water! 10 minutes on that table was relaxing, hypnotic and soooo rejuvenating… it was almost unbelievable! :) Unfortunately we dont have photos of it… it was almost 3 am.. :)

We got home soon after that and crashed for the night… The next afternoon we had a  serene Guru Pooja with Bhanu Didi and a superb gujju lunch  at one of the devotee’s homes after which we left for Sentosa Island…

The last part of the Singapore posts tomorrow…

Jai Gurudeva!

love
