How to Train Your Dragon

is a superb movie

Please watch it… and if possible watch it in 3D… unlike most of the other movies out there in 3D, this one actually uses the 3D effects many, many times.

If you are a viking, then dragons are bad news … they carry off your food and clothes (sheep) and torch your houses. As Hiccup, the very unlikely hero narrates right at theΒ beginningΒ of the movie:

“This is Berk. It’s twelve days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It’s located solidly on the Meridian of Misery. My village. In a word? Sturdy, and it’s been here for seven generations, but every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunset. The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes. We have… dragons.”

if you are a viking and you are clumsy and skinny and scrawny and awkward and are the chief’s son, then thats even more bad news, especially if you want to fight and kill a dragon… and only get in everyone’s way and you are not even 13, and on top of that you like “inventing” stuff, well then, you are quite the outcast.

And then if you manage to down the most dangerous dragon, the elusive night fury, and no one believes that you did that, you are going to feel bad enough to go and investigate… you are a viking, you are brave right?!

And then you find out that everything you were taught about dragons is wrong … What happens then?!

Oh yes, there is also that cute girl you have your eye on who hates you, or thinks she does … Could you do something to make her think otherwise? and save the dragons? and your village? and your father? and your romance? and of course your dragon?

It’s a superb movie, funny, feel good, uplifting (pun intended) … the animation is spot on, the voice acting is fantastic and the music is brilliant! … Pure Entertainment!!

If you know some kids, take them with you when you see this one…

Jai Gurudeva!

love

bawa

ps btw, it’s also showing on the imax in 3D

Thank gosh i read this I had dropped this movie from my ist coz last week i saw clash of titans-3D and it hardly had any 3D effects and was in no mood to watch 3D movies.
From all the 3D movies ive seen,I feel that no movie can beat Chota Chetan in the 3D effects.

    Really loved the movie…
Saw it last nite with a few friends, amazing effects..i think the best part about the movie was the dragons were so CUTE…and the voice over is fantastic. Also, the sense of humour is very likeable, jokes are laughable and you feel for the characters. Amazing stuff..

    Love,
    Anupam.

    Jai Gurudev!
Watched the movie with my kids on Saturday. We all enjoyed!
The point “And then you find out that everything you were taught about dragons is wrong” reminded me of one of Guruji’s knowledge points – “Remember, every time you have had an opinion about someone, you have been proved wrong.” Never assume anyone is bad πŸ™‚

  20. Rahul JOshi says:

JaiGuruDev Bau.. this was a really entertaining movie and my first ever 3D movie also.. Loved it…!!!

  22. Anandh says:

Jaigurudev Bawa. What a movie!!! I was able to see lot of Guruji’s knowledge point in this movie. The best was when Hiccup says that he was not able to kill Night Fury because he see himself in Night Fury, because of which a sense of belonging developed. !!!
After the movie, this the thought that keeps circling around me:

” There are lot of dragons inside each human being in form of terrorist, bad politics, corruption, scandals, greed , lust etc. Being extremely fortunate to be in the path, we should take the role of Hiccup and with love we can conquer and transform these dragons. Even if we lose our leg in the process, Guruji will provide us with a Night Fury so that we don’t have to walk but only to fly !!!!! πŸ™‚ ”

    Love,
    Anandh
