Everyone knows the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Paradise… Right? Some of you don’t… Hmmmm… Ok here is my version:

God created this fantastic superb, beautiful garden full of everything that anyone could ever want… And then possibly found that to be slightly boring, so created the first man, Adam. Adam was of course very curious about everything around him, and kept pestering God with many questions… God decided to give Adam a companion, so He could have some rest, and made the first woman from one of Adam’s ribs and called her Eve… She must have been quite skinny coming from a rib and I guess that’s where the fixation with being thin comes from
Adam and Eve were very happy for some time… God had told them that they could do whatever they wished and take anything their hearts desired EXCEPT the apples from a particular tree. The tree of Knowledge. Of course the two became instantly curious about the apples. Enter a serpent who told them that God was keeping all the good things from them by telling them not to eat the apples… To cut the rest of it short, they listened to the serpent, and ate an apple. Which made God really angry.
God threw them out of the Garden of Eden… Paradise Lost
This is quite a childish tale… If they are not supposed to eat the apple, why keep it there in the first place? And then tell them not to eat it! God was asking for trouble, didn’t He know His own creations? That if you told a man and a woman that they are not supposed to do it, they would
… And then to top it all, let the snake in?!
Ok, He did all that, now these 2 ate an apple, so He threw them out of Eden? What happened to compassion? Who lives in Eden now? What was the point of making that lovely place? …
We have this extremely vengeful, angry God, sitting around, waiting for Adam and Eve to make a mistake, not knowing the psychology of His own creation, and punishing them so very severely when they have made their first mistake…
Never felt right to me!
My interpretation of this story…
Adam and Eve are the opposites - Yin and Yang … And in the garden of Eden, they are perfectly in balance, hence there is Paradise.
The tree is not of knowledge, but of false knowledge and the snake is the promise of pleasure… Like an Ad for smoking… It’s a promise of pleasure, there is actually no pleasure in it at all… Just a dream… The snake is the temptation, the false promises of pleasures that apparently await you in the world, the maya…
And so when they eat this fruit of false knowledge, meaning that they think that maya or that what is illusion is real they go out of balance (false knowledge does this to you), they become miserable, and so Paradise is Lost!
To get back into Paradise, all you have to know is Opposite values are complementary! This Knowledge takes you back into the balanced, equanimous bliss of the Self. And when you gain the ability to move even through the opposites, and realize the world to be illusion, it is then you that you find God!
Paradise Regained!
Jai Gurudeva!

Really, things can be so misleading!!!!!!!!
wow bau…what a refreshing point of view…..” To get back into Paradise, all you have to know is Opposite values are complementary! ” this sentence reminded me of the first basic course i did .. and its so true..JGD..
A suggestion Bau,
it would be nice to have 10 or so of your most popular posts. They have the widget over Bloggerbuster. The popular posts are sorted according to no. of comments. Or you might still know of a better one.
I am sure a lot of people would like to read some of those fantastic posts without having to go through the archives.
Well , thats a very good interpretation of the creation tale from the Genesis .. but as a Christian I know that most of my fellow christians have accepted the naive literal interpretation which doesnt really account for any evolution but they would say that Jesus Christ was sent as Son of GOd to reclaim the paradise for man by dying on the cross …. This is a highly debatable matter I must say.

Superb…!!!
Yes.. my interpretation of Khurshed’s words :
” Nature has opposite values. As long as I don’t accept this, and look for eternal continuous pleasures ( apple ), i will be in pain. It quite ironic. When I realize that bad times will come with good times, accepting both as an integral part of life, I transcend both the good and bad, coming into a samadhi(literally means equanimous state of mind). Pain and happiness are both time-bound and take turns, like the sun and the moon. If I can accept both then there is Holi in the day, and Diwali in the night

jeevan hai ek behtein dhara
sukh hai ek kinara , ek kinara dhuk
sukh dukh se anjaane hokar jisne jeena seekhliya
iss jag ko jeeta usne , uss jag ko bhi jeetliya
this is a beautiful poem on tv, which reminded me of
opp values are complimentary.
as i was watching the programme for days. i was amazed of the
strength of the characters to be in serenity, sharing love, not getting
angry or revengefull but thinking about the good of the family and
the loved ones.
my amazement was answered by the boy reciting this poem and preparing
for his poem competetion at school.
this is too good bau….
opposite values r complimentary…..so TRUE!!!!!!!
Really amazing !!!! I loved it …
Jai Gurudev !!!
A soldier at the Pentagon got out of the shower, and realized that his clothes were missing. While searching around for them, he accidentally locked himself out of the locker room, and he found himself completely naked in the halls of the world’’s most powerful military organization HQ. But, luckily, no one was around to see him.
So, he ran as fast as he could to the elevator. When it arrived, it was empty. He breathed a sigh of relief and got in. When the doors opened on his floor, there was no one waiting outside. “This must be my lucky day,” he said to himself. He was now only a few yards from his office.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming from around the corner. He heard the General’’s voice. There was no way he’d make it to his door in time, so he ducked into the closest office available, and found himself in the laboratory for Research & Development. The Head Scientist looked up from one of her experiments with puzzled interest.
The soldier thought quickly, stood up straight and saluted.
“I am here to report the partial success of the Personal Invisibility Device,” he said.
“I see,” the Head Scientist said. “But the Shrink Ray seems to be working perfectly…”
Bawa i got this question yesterday… why should god create something called a world and create humans in them and make them get attached to people around them?? He could have just not done all these right?
my God Bau you have decoded it all so beautifully…. the original story is being told in the most funniest way i have ever heard…your idea about being thin actually fits…
it was superb!
Bau I am developing the ability to move even through the opposites, and realize the world to be illusion,
hey bawa..im so glad i discovered your blog…this one was just SUperb!!
Its sad, Interpretation seems not to be a big hit with you, wish you remain true to your knowledge rather than take potshots at other’s source of life
better read more then just the story (too short to interpret?) “Ok here is my version:” seems like they are all stupid and you are the only enlightened one? Jai Guru Dev,, No wonder YOU are a true GURU.
Ok here is my version: .. wish you to give gayn (spelt Knowledge) not take potshots, that helps people rather then pretend to be superb GURU WHO KNOWS IT ALL. You sound like a fanatic mosy(Paki - in india), and guaranteed to bring shame to Gurujji
whatever …
