Q. Bawa, a friend of mine is proving to be a major pain in the neck. He is an excessively angry person. He was my boyfriend, though that was a very long time ago. He gets mad at me almost every three days and I cannot stand it. My friends hate him. One of them has gone and babbled to my elder brother. So my family is also convinced he is crazy and that I better get rid of him. Even I agree he’s crazy. He’s very insistent and childish and the criticism I can mete out to him is endless. But I have a very good rapport with him when he is not being a jerk.
We have been good friends since a very long time and I take an awful lot of time to bond with someone new. So somehow after a long period of no communication with him I start to miss him and the vicious cycle begins. This has been happening since I can remember and is getting way out of hand.
Please help.
A. Get him for a few Art of Living courses. That should fix him. If it doesn’t then either learn to live with him, knowing that he is like that or ditch him and move on 
Q. Wanted the support that Muslims have got being a part of the Art Of Living Family! Need this information as a motivation for my friend who believes he’ll get no support to do anything good for the country, being minority. Please help.
A. Not bothered if he is muslim or catholic or follows shintoism or is an atheist or whatever. If he wants to do something that is pro humanity, he will be welcomed to Art of Living with open arms and given ample opportunity and chances to do it.
Q. Bawa please write about food on your blog – effects of different kinds of food and what are the right foods to eat … and whether its the same for everyone … and if not … how do we know whats good and right for us ?? … and what to eat at what times of the day etc.. ?
A. There are so many, many recipes. This is the food I eat and am reasonably healthy ?.
You will need to see a good ayurved to figure out what exactly are the foods that are good for you, but as a rule of the thumb, avoid white sugar, and refined white flour (maida), and go easy on the chillies, onions and garlic. Eat on time everyday, meaning if you have dinner at 7:30 pm, have it earliest by 7:15 pm, latest by 7:45 pm.
Our body prefers alkaline food to acidic food, and so you should have 80% alkaline food and 20% acidic food. Here is a good source for figuring out what food is acidic and needs to be avoided and what is alkaline and should be consumed more. We will put up a very beautiful chart in the shop section of the site for you to buy in a while…
To loose weight, don’t eat after 8:00 pm, and don’t mix carbs and proteins in the same meal. Ayurveda says that after eating anything, even a biscuit, you should wait 3 hours before eating anything else, however you should not stay hungry for more than 6 hours. Sadhana, Seva and Satsang on a very regular, consistent basis will help a lot, as will some sort of cardio exercise, brisk, walking, jumping, jogging etc. No non veg food of any sort, no alcohol, no smoking, no drugs, etc will keep your system in top condition!
Q. Hello bhaiya. I think that I am quite addicted to crying. I just imagine things that never happened and cry over events I have only imagined.
When my friends hurt me. I am not able to put across the fact that I am upset in words. Even though, they might not have done some thing as big, I make it big in my thinking and cry over it. Is it a way in which my negative emotions are coming out or am I just pushing my mind into thinking negatively? Should I make an effort and not cry?
A. Why not laugh instead of cry? Laugh that people can upset you so easily. Laugh at their insensitivity. And most importantly, laugh at yourself!
Q. Hello Sir,
I used to watch your prog on ETV (in Yuva Bharat) It was really a great program. I used to wait for the same. The gentle humor, practical experiences , lessons were really great.I am wondering if there are any videos of same available? Thanks again for giving us such a wonderful lessons!

Q. Dear Bawa,
I believe in reincarnation, that the soul is immortal; we take rebirths to continue our spiritual journey, that we carry all our efforts made towards God into our next birth, and that after achieving enlightenment we are liberated from this cycle of birth and death. I was wondering that according to this theory of rebirths the number of souls should remain same (or decrease) but population of our planet is increasing at a very fast rate. From where are these extra souls coming?
A. Many animals are also going extinct.
Q. One more thing, do plants and all the micro-organisms also have soul? Does anything that has life have soul?
A. Yes.

Last week Guruji visited Delhi and he attended one of the satsang in East Delhi ….After the Satsang it was total chaos because ppl got on to the stage and broke that sofa where guruji was sitting it was difficult for the volunteers to keep the crowd away… Bawa , Here I ve a suggestion During the basic course why cant Art of Leaving teachers announce that and tell participants to refrain from such behaviour whenever Guruji visits that particular state and if they make a ‘Queue’ like in foreign countries then everyone will get a chance to meet Guruji

I would tend to agree with Achal Premi….. I understand from your Q&A that more human souls may just about be a result of extinct animal species, but do we need to display our souls origin via animal behaviour to the GURU? Surely HE knows where we are from!
It would be a good idea for us to have some do’s and don’s announced in all courses… the way teh YES+ participants behave when Gurudev is around is fantastic! lets replicate them across other courses!

Celibacy is a natural state and not a pose. People should learn to respect their natural feelings. Merely repeating Guruji’s knowledge like a parrot does not mean being in knowledge.

Strange, in that case doesn’t that mean that you or I must not have a soul as you or I are just collections of cells? that is a collection of souls.
What are we truly? A collection of souls or a single soul?
If, for whatever reason, we do have a soul, then Doesn’t this logically point to the conclusion that the whole earth itself has a soul, and we are all the cells that make it up?

Saw a question regarding the population and the number of souls, in rigveda it is said that before the creation there was neither existence or non-existence. there was only the supreme conciousness (popularly known as god) which started manifesting into many. It is said that the entire process of creation started because the supreme wanted to become many from one. The hyms of rigveda says this.
) so there is always a fine balance between life and death which is very beautifully explained in vedas.

Also, since knowbody knows when the creation actually started, most of te scientists assume 5 million years ago something like that… in vedas it is said that after each yuga (which lasts for several million years) there will be pralay (destruction) which we call as the Brahma, vishnu and shiva energies. So logically speaking the number of souls after each destruction remains the same where as the life process again starts (the souls may have to wait really long time before their turn comes
This also tells us that we are not the only so called nuclear weapon generation, they say that there are chances of another ice age if nuclear war happens which makes me think the last ice age happened 5000 years ago the same time when the kurukshetra war happened (which was a nuclear war between pandavas and kauravas) and there is a legend that Ashwathama S/O Drona released the brahmastra (ultimate nuclear force) and the world was in the edge of destruction

In response to pallavur hariharan, when there’s true love, there’s no such thing as seduction. The physical aspect of a relationship comes after the emotional intimacy… Do more sadhna and you won’t even give so much importance to the physical aspect of the relationship… something to think about before you “seduce” someone…

Without physical aspect of relationship human species could be extinct
we are born and got an opportunity to balance our karmas and do our sadhana because of of a couple’s physical relationship. So lets be grateful to that aspect of life.
Why be so feverish about sadhana and have a die hard wish to ignore physical relationship? If celibacy has to happen it will happen definitely!! If it doesn’t happen so what? still enjoy!!
Out there are some poor mortals-not so ‘spiritually evolved souls’ (unlike some who ‘think’ they are so evolved) Let such unevolved beings enjoy without having to feel inferior!!
Doing sadhana doesn’t qualify sadhaks to advise others whats right and whats not?
Why these so called sadhaks have this ‘I am above everyone else and what I say and do is right attitude?’ Live and let live.

Exactly the point… if the girl isn’t comfortable then why would you force her to do what she doesn’t want to do? Furthermore, don’t know who said to be feverish about sadhana and have a die hard wish to ignore the physical aspect… but if you read again what I said, it was that “physical aspect of a relationship comes AFTER the emotional intimacy”, therefore, to say a relationship can survive with a strong emotional intimacy and not so great or no physical aspect but it will not survive over the long run on the basis alone of a great sex life! And no I don’t think there are some poor mortals-not so evolved, I think we all have the potential to reach the same point. 1. as we believe in law of attraction- im in relationship since a month….its gng nice…my parents have a lil idea abut it…however at times my mom insist me on looking for a guy..or for matching horoscopes….n so on…i do that to make her happy or rather not give he tenssion……n i feel that i shud wait for sme time to tell my parents…now the thing here is since im doing 1 thing of loving him n second of listening to my mom…i wonder if negative messages are passed on as to what do i actually require…..n since this realtion is by Guruji’s Blessings…i dnt have to worry abut it…but i also want to do everything that it goes on in a nice way……..
