Singapore!
A quick 2 hour flight from Bali and we were in Changi Airport, Singapore…
And Guruji was with us, He had His flight back to India after a few hours, but dinesh and i were stopping over in Singapore. Bhanu didi had a Sahaj course there, and i had never been there… btw, if you have a valid US visa on your (Indian) passport, you can stay in Singapore for 3 days… nice to know fact
It was quite heart rending to leave Guruji in the lounge and go thru immigration, knowing He would be there at Changi for few more hours… but, very lovingly He asked us to go (there were many people waiting to receive us outside and i don’t think He wanted them to wait), and so we went…
Before i talk about Singapore, i have to tell you that Changi airport is perhaps the only airport in the world that has been built with passengers in mind… There are orchid and butterfly gardens (pretty and small), there are movie theaters, there are gyms, i think 3 swimming pools, free Internet access (wifi and terminals for people without laptops), gaming rooms, quiz shows, plenty of comfortable places to sit around and just lounge, some places with really bright lighting, others more secluded with dim relaxed ambiance, lots of places to eat (though unfortunately they serve mostly non veg food) and PLENTY of shops!
Also there are just so many people going in and out, that you will almost certainly meet someone you know! It’s like one big party… and i thoroughly enjoyed my time over there both on the way to Bali and when we came back!
After a few hitches were cleared up, we cleared immigration etc and got met by a bunch of really cool YES!+ students that shilpa had taught… and got hit by the heat! Singapore like Bali is HOT! Someone told me the secret of Singapore’s success is Air Conditioning and LOTS of it
We were going to stay at Jayanth’s place. He is prof who teaches negotiation skills at the National University of Singapore (NUS)… We reached home, went grocery shopping and made that fantastic burnt garlic pumpkin soup and some pasta… ate it, and crashed…
The next day we mostly stayed at home, i had a bit of a heat stroke and quite a few blisters in my mouth from the all too spicy food of Bali, and just wanted to rest… But in the evening, we went to the Night Safari… And what a fantastic experience that was … you guessed it, more about that later!
