Mumbai and Poona have seen a sudden increase in teen suicides. If you have not already read it, please read what i had written about suicide a pretty long time ago. It’s still very relevant and i feel it needs to be made available to many more people to read as well… As the two cities struggle with the tragedies, Art of Living has swung into action by launching a helpline in association with Just Dial. Only, we called it the HopeLine. It’s for anyone who needs to talk, but doesn’t have any one they can talk to about anything they wish to.

Please spread the word and let many people know about this. you may just save a life.
Meanwhile as it says on the poster, we have started the Better Parenting Workshops for parents, and the Stress Free Teaching Workshops for teachers in schools and colleges. These are free workshops and in less than 10 days more than 5000 people have undergone the training and many lives have been transformed. A father and son who attended the workshop told us later that they had intended to kill themselves the next day and that just being on the workshops had given them hope and that they now felt they had the strength to carry on. Many such experiences made us feel that the Mumbai Angels really need a huge boost in the Sattwa levels here…
Will tell you what we are doing about that tomorrow
Jai Gurudeva!
love
bawa
ps the HopeLine number is # 69999999 and is valid on 10,000 pin codes, more than 1/3rd of India

A very good initiative bau…
yes bau, it was very disturbing to hear news about suicides every day over the past one month… Good that AOL has plunged into action to prevent suicides….
An yes+ course gives us the strength to move on in time of adversities..
btw how many calls have the hopeline recieved since inception….?
less than a thousand so far … 800ish i think
hi bau,
needless to say… a great article…… there are people who commit suicide but there are few people who are afraid of death (sometimes I feel I belong to this categeory). how to remove this fear. why do we have this fear. I am very regular with my sadhna, not much regular with satsand n seva though.
Little bit of fear of death is what makes many people live longer
Bingooooo…..
. Its strange how you reply most serious question in most humurous way possible and yet sound very meaningful…
Thats a great step!!
NICE ONE…
Dear All.
Suicide is not the only solution to your problem . just face problems life with strength and hope. It’s ur good karma that u have such loving parents , great friends, a great guru , such loving teachers and so on….
U might think y am i telling all this i too was gal once upon a time who tried committing suicide.by drinking phenyl, tried to cut my wrists with a blade, stood on the bridge to and tried to jump into the river. Unfortunately i was saved.
and then AOL came which brought a new lease of life a new hope gave strength to face problems got good friends for which i was longing wonderful teachers like BAWA , DINESH , KAVI Didi, RAJESH Bhaiya , UPASANA Didi and so on…….
This life is to live up to the fullest not to sit and brood. come out and face world with a smile , with strength.
